| Description of the problem | Car has check engine light come on, diagnosed to have balance shaft failure. This is a well known defect that happens to many cars with this engine. Mercedes was aware since 2007, but refuses to correct the problem, only offers to give 'free' parts. Dealer says would cost $4500 to $6000 for labor to fix. Mercedes should issue a recall to fix this problem. |
